What defines great PR? In association with NewCo, we asked over 20 client side PR and marketing teams to define what good PR looks like to them, and what they wish they’d known when they started out in the industry.
As founder and CEO of Jargon PR, Simon Corbett is at the heart of the business. Having started his PR career at Weber Group (WeberShandwick) in 1999 he has over sixteen years international technology, corporate and consumer PR experience.
In early 2000 Simon launched and subsequently sold an online recruitment business focussed on advertising vacancies in Buckinghamshire. Following this Simon worked at global PR agencies Edelman and Porter Novelli before launching Jargon PR in late 2009. Since its launch the agency has been named ‘Small Agency of the Year’ three times at the CIPR PRide Awards.
Simon’s entrepreneurial journey continued in 2013 when he launched Global Dating Insights, a trade media title for the online dating industry. The site has gone onto become the leading global publisher in its market and runs its own series of international conferences focused on the online dating industry.
Outside of work Simon is a father of two, a husband and a keen motoring and football fan. He speaks regularly at start-up and technology conferences, lectures on the CIM course and is passionate about new technology.
A campaign that seeks to bring more young people from diverse backgrounds into the PR and communications profession at entry level.
