Jargon PR’s Sustainability Update
Our Sustainability Pledge
In June 2021, Jargon PR set out on a mission to plant 5,000 trees over a period of 18 months on behalf of ourselves and our clients. Today, I’m delighted to let you know that, so far, we have planted 2,916 trees and have removed 243 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere.
By partnering with Ecologi, whose ambassador is Steven Bartlett, we are working to support a number of vital environmental projects, including the Preservation of the Amazon Rainforest.
The Amazon Rainforest Project
As one of the most biodiverse habitats on the planet, the Amazon is home to 10% of the world’s terrestrial species and has a new species being discovered every three days. The rainforest is also home to over one-million indigenous people.
We’re incredibly proud to contribute monthly, through our partnership with Ecologi, and help create a positive change. Jargon PR makes a monetary donation on behalf of every retained client each month, to help our clients and friends give back to the environment and meet their ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) objectives.
As an agency, we’re particularly proud of our involvement with Para State. This is the second largest state in Brazil by area and is located in the North of the country, encompassing the mouth of the Amazon River.
We’re working to avoid a planned deforestation of over 200,000 hectares, our specific involvement will preserve 27,434 hectares of native forest within the site, which was previously planned to be cleared.
This project alone will remove over 9.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the environment. We’re currently 58% of the way through our mission of planting 5,000 trees and are determined to meet and exceed this target.
We’re proud to be playing a small part in a global problem and look forward to sharing more about the wonderful climate projects we’re supporting very soon. As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
