Supporting the PR industry with PRCA’s COVID-19 Taskforce

Jargon PR’s Managing Director, Simon Corbett, joins the PRCA’s International COVID-19 Taskforce.

The last few weeks have been extremely challenging for us all. The PR industry is one of many industries that has unfortunately been negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19.

A recent survey conducted by PRovoke Media found that 77% of PR firms expect to see a loss of earnings surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and 86% have already seen their clients respond in delayed or cancelled campaigns.

I’ve been devastated to see the dramatic change that has happened in our industry in such a short space of time and I’m committed to helping the PR industry in any way possible.

For this reason, I’ve joined the PRCA International COVID-19 Taskforce which provides free consultation services to help communications leaders manage their organisations and agencies through the pandemic crisis.

The taskforce has gathered communication leaders, both in-house and from agencies, to provide senior practitioner support to peers, in organisations and consultancies across the world, through targeted personal advice during the crisis. It will provide support in two groups; communicating during COVID-19 and managing an agency during COVID-19.

We’re all in this together, and with 20 years of PR experience, I’ve pledged to volunteer my time in the hope that I can play a small part in supporting fellow colleagues see their businesses through this difficult time. Because when this storm passes, and it will pass, the PR industry will continue to be there to support its clients and achieve outstanding results.
