Team Jargon PR: Kevin Winfield

What is your name and where do you come from?

I’m Kevin and I’m from a small town in Surrey. It’s not the most exciting place to live but it is ideal for long walks with the dog and country pubs.

What is your favourite thing about PR?

I was first attracted to PR due the diversity of the work. Having a background in journalism, I naturally love writing but was looking for more variety and challenges in my job. I love that every day is different and I find myself constantly learning.

What has been the highlight of your working life?

Getting one of my clients the cover feature of a national business magazine. It took a lot of organising and a painstaking amount of following up, but it was worth it in the end.

What apps do you use and why?

Spotify and Netflix are my most used apps. With Spotify I love having access to all of my music and making unlimited playlists without taking up too much memory on my phone. And whilst the film selection on Netflix isn’t the best, the sheer amount of hours spent watching TV shows makes the subscription well worthwhile.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I’m slightly obsessed with modern art and whilst I’m not an expert, I love spending hours plodding around galleries. I’m also a bit of a gamer and can easily get lost in the latest PS4 release.

Name one food you can’t resist?

Steak – I’m an easy man to please!

Tell us your favourite film, TV show and album? And why?

Film – Avengers Assemble – As a massive Marvel movie nerd/aficionado, this film has everything (superheroes, aliens, loud noises etc) to make my inner child smile with delight. The fact it was written and directed by Joss Whedon is a bonus.

TV show – Parks and Recreation – Probably one of the funniest shows on TV at the moment.

Album – Lana Del Rey ‘Ultraviolence’ – SO MANY FEELINGS!

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

I’d quite like to have Telekinesis and be able to move things with my mind. I like to think I’d use this power for good but in reality I’d probably just use it to reach for the TV remote!
